MindShift Studio was created to encourage mental and physical mindfulness, rooted in cognitive performance research, to improve overall quality of life.

MindShift Founders Brie Galicinao and Alysia Hendricks first connected through college coaching and during their recreational time on the Santa Barbara East Beach volleyball courts. It was during their extended snack breaks between sets when they first discussed combining their love of yoga, athletics, and cognitive health, and partnering to share their teachings and research with a larger audience.

They both had experienced successes and pitfalls as athletes themselves as well as coaching athletes. Through these experiences and thousands of hours of yoga, performance, and anatomy trainings that they have developed performance programming related to increasing cognitive performance and ease, concussion recovery, and sport-specific physical results.

Meet Brie

Brie has helped high schoolers through retirees reach their respective goals by first being able to show up fully in their lives – whether that is athletically, professionally, or for their families. She believes that everything in our lives are connected and a holistic approach to our physical and mental wellbeing is the best means to help us perform at our best.

Originally from Stockton, California, Brie attended college and spent her first years out of college working in athletic fundraising for her alma mater in Princeton, New Jersey. Following her passion of working directly with athletes on a daily basis, Brie has coached and taught group movement classes in Santa Barbara, California since 2005. Brie customizes individual clients’ programming based on the knowledge she has gained from coaching movement for over 20 years as well as a wealth of trainings in yoga, anatomy, and sports performance.

Meet Alysia

Alysia started practicing yoga after sustaining a concussion in January 2015. During her recovery, she began studying with Tiffany Cruikshank of Yoga Medicine to pursue a deeper understanding of how yoga can be therapeutic and aid in recovery. Over the course of four years, Alysia has used her studies at Yoga Medicine to recover from Post-Concussion Syndrome and as a modality to enhance performance of athletes and personal clients.

Currently, Alysia coaches at UCSB, is pursuing her 500-hour certification from Yoga Medicine and her Master Training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Alysia continues to look to professionals across the industry for the most effective way to train the body and optimize performance. Alysia’s goal is to implement training that will foster a healthy lifestyle for athletes throughout their career and life.
